ViewPoint TMS: Exciting Update (Insurance)

This update introduces the ability for Schedule Shipment and Vendor Users to book shipments with insurance. Users will now see banners indicating that items without a specified value will not be covered by insurance and that freight will be insured according to the carrier's tariff unless a value is specified for full coverage insurance. This feature was added based on client requests, and freight rates will now display insurance options if values are entered in the 'Total Value' and 'Item Category' fields.

Additionally, a new Submit Request Dialogue Box for Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests has been integrated into the LTL modules. This dialogue box will appear regardless of the booking option selected (Book and Wait or Book and Notify) and allows users to choose from four checkboxes (You, Shipper, Consignee, Others) to specify email recipients for the COI. Users can enter any email address, and the COI will be emailed to all selected recipients. Furthermore, the insured value of a shipment will be displayed on the Landing Page if values are provided in the 'Total Value' and 'Item Category' fields. The COI will also be accessible in the Documents Section, and the Tracking Module now includes details such as Insurance Cost, Insured Value, and Item Category.

These updates underscore TLI's commitment to providing seamless and efficient shipping solutions, ensuring that our users have the necessary tools for effective transportation management.

The maintenance module has also seen enhancements with the addition of an Item Category column in the Items module. Users can now add, edit, and save item categories via Import and Portal, and this field is available in the Export Excel function. New insurance settings have been added to the maintenance modules, further improving the user experience.
