On Monday, April 8, North America will experience a total solar eclipse event. The moon will move between the earth and the sun, causing the sky to darken. This event is not expected to happen again until 2044.
The eclipse band is known as the area where the eclipse will be fully realized. The image below is a picture the Federal Highway Association posted on social media with affected interstates.

Experts warn it is unsafe to look directly at the sun without any specialized eye protection. While experts warn about damage to eyes, the Federal Highway Administration took to Social Media to warn commuters of the dangers of driving during the event. Driving during the eclipse may be dangerous, and drivers should never look at the eclipse while operating a vehicle, even with wearing eclipse glasses.
Factors around this event may lead to traffic delays and disruptions to normal operations, particularly in the eclipse band areas. Disruptions may include higher traffic volume due to tourists and inability to drive during the event.
TLI is actively monitoring this situation and will help customers through any disruptions. This event is expected to last one afternoon on Monday April 8.
